Clearinghouse for Clearing Houses recently partnered with TAPTF Society.
Julie McCullough moved from Maryland to Delaware about 4 years ago,
during the height of the pandemic. In that first year, she and her husband
cleaned out 3 houses at once! Hating to see things go into landfill, Julie
researched what they could do with the many things they were not going to
keep. They did yard sales, gave things away to friends and family, donated
things to thrift stores and other organizations, sold a few things online, and
took things to recycling sites.
It’s a tough process regardless of your particular circumstances. So once
she got settled in her new home, Julie wanted to share her experience and
hard-won knowledge with others in her new community. She continued to
collect information specific to Sussex County, Delaware about what people
could do with things they had to “let go of”. She also collects more general
information about resources and ideas about downsizing.
A year ago, Julie started her clearinghouse and began giving occasional
FREE talks at local libraries, churches, and senior centers. This is not a
business endeavor for her. It has become her “mission” and passion, and
her way of “paying it forward” the help she got when she was immersed in
TOO MUCH STUFF.
After a recent talk, a woman who attended told Julie how much she
appreciated realizing she wasn’t alone facing challenges of downsizing.
Julie has several talks scheduled for September, on different days and
times, at different locations in Sussex County.
Details on how to reserve your spot are listed on the website HERE.
