As the warmth of July settles in and summer reaches its peak, the TAPTF Society is hard at work turning compassion into action. Our Independence Day is more than fireworks and parades, it’s a celebration of the values that define us as Americans: freedom, equality, and the belief that we all deserve a fair chance. True patriotism means lifting each other up, especially those who are struggling. That’s why as always we want to take a moment to thank all the donors and volunteers that make our mission a reality every day.
In the month of June our hardworking chefs received $9,242 worth of dry goods and ingredients which they supplemented, cooked and processed into $18,935 worth of donations. This brings the June grand total of freshly prepared and ready-to-eat meals delivered to 3,273. Thank you again for all your support. Together, we are reducing waste and ensuring that no one in our community is left behind. By helping others, we carry forward the spirit of independence, not as individuals standing alone, but as a people united by community, service, and hope.

Trump’s latest tax proposal is set to slash trillions from federal revenues and comes with a heavy cost to working families, particularly those relying on vital safety net programs like food assistance.
Under the legislation, funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) would be dramatically reshaped. The plan would shift more financial burden onto already-stretched state governments, impose harsh new work requirements, and risk cutting off food aid to millions of lower-income Americans, including seniors, single parents, and people experiencing homelessness.
In the months ahead, many families and community members will be facing a widening gap of food insecurity and will rely on local non-profits like ours, as well as local food pantries to fill those nutritional needs. Your donations, time, and skills are needed now more than ever.

The Sierra Club dates back to 1892 and is the oldest and largest environmental advocacy organization in North America. Their mission is to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet. Since 1992, the Delaware Chapter has blazed trails to protect the environment and to provide opportunities to enjoy and explore the natural beauty of our state.
And they need your help! Urge your legislators to vote yes on SB 159 to correct county-level overreach and ensure a reliable, cleaner, and less expensive energy grid for all Delawareans. We can’t afford to continue to allow obstructionism to undermine the progress we need to bring clean energy online in our region.
